Cubic zirconia (CZ) is synthesized for use as a stimulated diamond. The material is hard, flawless to the naked eye and usually colorless. Cubic Zirconia are made in several different colors. Cubic zirconia is used in place of a diamond in many instances. It is difficult to distinguish between the two if you are not a gemologist. It has been found that only the rarest of diamonds are a colorless stone. A cubic zirconia can be made colorless and equivalent to a perfect diamond on the grading scale.
